by David Burger
March 2, 2012

Sing-along with Donny Osmond — you can read the subtitles — in a special screening of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

This fully staged production, shot at London’s Pinewood Studios in 1999, has been specially re-mastered for screenings on Monday, March 26 at 6 p.m., and Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m.

Presented in a never-before-seen sing-along version with subtitles for audiences to join in, this event also features an introduction and question-and-answer session with Osmond live from Salt Lake City, plus an animated opening sequence which features an 80-piece orchestra.
Tickets for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be broadcast to nearly 550 select movie theaters across the country, including many along the Wasatch Front. Find a theater near you at the Fathom web site.

The pre-recorded version of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is based upon the hit production that originally opened at the London Palladium in 1991 and went on to tour globally, grossing over $300 million. Shot at London’s Pinewood Studios at the height of the theatrical run in 1999, it features Osmond as Joseph, a role he played in more than 2,000 shows across the U.S. and Canada.

Originally written in 1968 as a 25-minute ‘pop cantata,’ "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" was the first staged collaboration between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
